I downloaded the module from:

joomcore.com/free-extensions/item/71-jo-k2-slideshow

The file installs but I can not enter edit mode of the module, it instead displays and un-formatted html page with an image of the slideshow.

Any ideas?
The administrator has disabled public write access.

This module slide show content of k2 component. So you need install k2 component in your site
