TOPIC: Customizing Layout types

I have 3 category blocks in my grid. I have selected Layout type of 11 which offers me perfected medium sized boxes. All I need to do now is also include the introtext(Part of the actual article content) and not just the header. I also want to maintain a constant colour for all 3 blocks.
Please find attached the image with what I am trying to explain.
